    Are the kits being fed?

Hi again everyone, Just a quick update, this morning all the kits were fat and full and wiggly. Even the smaller/“runty” ones looked much much better. I have been giving her some fennel as suggested, and it seems to have done the trick with milk production. Can’t thank you all enough xx

    Are the kits being fed?

Thank you to everyone for your help and advice! I’m sure I’m overthinking things, but better safe than sorry I suppose! I think because of the difference between these 7, and the 2 surprise kits Flash had, that’s why I started panicking a bit. Flash’s babies were huge compared to these little...

    Are the kits being fed?

Thank you for the reply, I’d love to send some photos but can’t manage to upload any? Will only let me view the ones I put up when I signed up. The tiniest of the “underfed 3” has suckled, but then moves to another teat. Each one he goes for he’s only there for around 20 seconds or so, and...

    Are the kits being fed?

Hi everyone, So after princess’ failed litter at the end of December/start of Jan, I took everyone’s advice and bred her again with scamp. (Both Princess and Scamp are angoras) A rabbit (flash) I rescued after being dumped in my area a month ago had 2 live kits 3 weeks ago. Princess had a live...

    Kit with no eyes?

Jasmine, good luck with your breeding! I hope it all works out for you :) Jbun, thank you for this info, I’m definitely going to take it on board and check if there’s a better diet option for all my buns. They all get treated like royalty here, and I add protexin into their water once a week...

    Kit with no eyes?

No, I’m not breeding for pets at all. I’ve moved to South Africa (originally from the uk) and live on just over an acre of land, I want to breed my angoras for wool, for show, and to make the breed over here stronger. I also have Flemish giants which I am going to show also, and to help the...

    Kit with no eyes?

Kind of accidental, but also not  I do want to breed her with my angora buck (she’s an angora also) however the litter wasn’t exactly planned for  I didn’t know the date she was bred so separated her as soon as I had a feeling she was pregnant. Because of this I didn’t know her...

    Kit with no eyes?

Princess ended up kindling 2 stillborn kits. However a few days later she gave birth to a dead furred kit. It was huge, no ears and no eyes. It had eye sockets, but the fur had grown inside them, and they were hollow. What happened? I’ve never seen anything like it in my life

She went back to eating last night, consumed everything in sight :p Also has a lot more energy again. Still no kits though :(

    First time mum

Thank you for your advice! I gave her a fruit flavoured antacid that is the equivalent here to tums. She’s still being really affectionate towards me, is peeing and pooping fine, but isn’t restless or even energetic, she’s hardly moved all day! It’s nearly midnight here so am hoping for some...

    First time mum

I’ll give it a go, I’m not sure if they sell tums here (I now live in South Africa, moved from the uk) however I have plenty of egg shells I could crush. The only problem is, she’s not eating. I’ve given her plenty to choose from to try to entice her but other than a few strands of hay, she...

    First time mum

She isn’t showing any signs of contracting currently, she’s just laying down not doing anything, I can however still see the kits wiggling and moving around when she lays down. Her stomach has also seemed to have “dropped”. Before when she came to snuggle up with me, I could feel the kits on the...

    First time mum

She’s adorable, and sounds like a right little character! I didn’t know you could still breed them at 8 years?! She really is stunning though. Although I do have to know how she almost killed you twice?! Still no babies this side. Princess was the quietest she’s ever been last night, was pretty...

I think I’m actually worse than my 3 year old was waiting for Christmas :p That bunny in the picture is absolutely gorgeous. I had one just like her when I was younger.
