just to update, after applying the tresaderm and putting him back in the bedroom for a while, his ears no longer appear red and he isn't flinching or jerking away when i touch them. so i have to assume either the tresaderm helped or there is something about the living area that set off that...

well jojo's poops are back to normal and he's got the bounce back in his step so i think i can say he is recovered :D thank you so much JBun for helping me through this stressful time and providing resources. heres a pic of the boy in good spirits :)

he has eye drops but the vet said it looked like the beginning of cataracts but he can still see relatively well. i guess he is old after all.

update: his poops got more solid at the vet, of course...he loves to scare me. still mushy but not diarrhea, going to discontinue baytril. the vet confirmed his eyes are getting a little cloudier but he hasnt totally lost his eyesight so there is that. hope as he eats the critical care he also...

it went from mushy cecotropes to actual diarrhea. i will be calling a vet in the morning, right now it is 4am so no one is open. should i make him drink some water in the meantime?

so its been a little bit, he is pooping more consistently but im kind of worried about the state of his poop right now. he does do his regular poops but theyre still very tiny. he has been doing a lot of cecotropes though and i am not sure what this means. the vet recommended some leafy greens...

he has started nibbling the leaves off of cilantro, just not with his usual enthusiasm so i dont think its enough to keep him fed. i figured i would back off the critical care when it looks like he doesnt need help eating and his poops are back to normal.
