    Chinchilla Dutch Variety

older post sorry but I know Kevin Hooper out of Ohio did take some Chin and cross them into his blacks and then crossed them back to chins down the road to get more chins with the better body. Also another friend, the Lamberts used Chin dutch and their Chinchilla Mini rex- keeping records of...

    Bunny bleeding! Help

Likely just glue it or tell you to let it granulate in and not worry about it. At least that's what my vets would say.

    Bunny bleeding! Help

yeah that's a stitch. just see if it's still attached and call and talk to them, see what they recommend. Don't stress or worry. those stitches will absorb eventually(same suture used at the clinic I work at). Keep her from licking and put a little neosporian on it.

    Bunny bleeding! Help

it's hard to see from that picture if it's an open spot like she has chewed at it or an angry teat. Try to rub a tiny bit of neosporian on it and try your best to keep her from licking/chewing it.

    Fur mites? Ringworm?

So I know this is almost a year old post. Connie broke out again- but not as bad a few months ago-again she's penned with her littermate sister and not a thing on her sister. Went away on it's own. Today I brought her last son home, he's almost 3 years old(She's 8 years old now). Her son is...

    Disappearing Breeders

To other show folk- have anyone else noticed a decrease in other breeders in your area's? I know KY is not a rabbit friendly state to start with but I have noticed quite a few small breeders have all disappeared. Most citing raising costs of feed, hay etc and lack of sales of offspring. I am...

    Flakes on Rabbits Ears

if it's coming from deep in the ear I would check it for ear mites. It's how I have caught a few just starting to get them in a few of the ones I have rescued, and I've seen some bad cases too. Dry skin is possible too but with the scratching i would be worried of an ear mite infestation...

    Fur mites? Ringworm?

they are just my two 'old' ladies as I call them. both 7 year old, the next oldest are around 3 years old. Connie and Natalie earned their rights to live out their lives with me as they are my first two homegrown GC's. Anyway She does look better the further out from the Revolution doses we...

    Fur mites? Ringworm?

I have had ringworm on myself a few times from cats and dogs it just didn't look like ringworm- at least not how it behaved on the cats or the dogs. so weird, plus my skin never broke out for it, nor my sisters. For an old girl she seems kind of tired but she's eating and drinking and...

    Fur mites? Ringworm?

Okay background first. My bunny barn sits inside my horse pasture. Safer from dogs and coyotes that way. I have done rescue horses and rescue rabbits for years- as well as own two of my own horses and raise and show Dutch and English Spot rabbits. Due to it being a barn I do have some stray...

    KY Rabbit Savvy Vets

The vet office I work for, a couple of the vets are quite good with my rabbits, I have even had one have a leg amputated because she shattered it. Coming up on her 2 year anniversary of that. Dr. Reister and Dr. Smith are both good with rabbits and Dr Skaggs is the elder vet who is still...

    Trying breeding again.

Agreed, I would keep them apart for now so now you only have the one due date range (as it can be a couple day range) I have personally seen 1 doe carry two litters. It was a new zealand mix that one of the county shelters around me had, she had one litter day after arriving at the shelter and...
