I have a rabbit that thumps at night too. I never know why, the other rabbit is fine and she is just down the hall from me. If anything was going on, I would hear it. I am a light sleeper which is why her thumping wakes me up. I will have to try the light. I never thought of that.

I live in the Columbus area and volunteer at the local humane society which takes in rabbits, but the maximum is 8. We have a huge waiting list. And they live around cats and dogs. It isn't an ideal situation. Anyway, there is a group I am involved in called the Ohio House Rabbit Rescue...

My buns have a few water bowls. When I think they are dirty, I just throw them in the dishwasher with the rest of the dishes. For the water bottles, I clean then once a week with a special brush I bought and put new water in the bottle.

I know at the shelter I volunteer at. The rabbits are switched diets right away. They are feed what the shelter feeds regardless of what they had before. So far there hasn't been a problem. Would I do it with my own rabbits? I am not sure.

I agree with Laura on a grate. My buns would throw out carefresh. I use yesterdays's news and horse pellet bedding, but if I put anything els in there, they throw/push it all out.
