Hey all, got a random question for anyone that might have experience in the arena. Our Flemish babies are a week old today.

We’ve been keeping loud noises away from their area on the acreage, including weed eating and mowing.

We would like to cleanup that grassy area (around the kennel and pen, not inside - inside is solid floored).

Both parents are totally used to all manner of lawn equipment noise (weed eating, mower, tractor, etc.)

If we mow and weed eat there, will it possibly cause too much stress on the kits? We will wait if so - grass is getting crazy in the area, but will hold off if y’all think it’ll be too stressful.

Thanks in advance!

I wouldn't be so much concerned about the kits at this age, but the parents. But since they're ok with it, then I wouldn't see any problem with going ahead and getting it done. The kits as they do get older, will take cues off the momma bun. If loud noises don't freak her out, then the kits are less likely to get nervous about them either.

If this is a noise they will encounter anyway at some point I think when they are younger they are somewhat more flexible to accept it as a normal part of the world they are going to live in, especially when the other rabbits don't care much.

Thank you so much! That is kind of what we were thinking. We went ahead and did our routine weekly chores today. Pen is now pressure washed out and the baby buns seemed fine with the noise (their kennel was closed during the cleaning but when we checked on them after, they were all snoozing in a cuddle puddle.
