Wild bunny or pet?

Hey all, I have a question. So I have what i believe is an eastern cotton tail or possibly a hare that comes up to my porch every morning. She comes up about 5 steps and just lays right outside my door. The other day my uusband was sitting on stairs and she started sniffing him and actually put her front legs up on his lap. She then proceeded to flop down right next to him. Is this normal? Could she be a domesticated bunny set free? I attached a picture of her.

She's defiantly an Eastern Cottontail, but from her behavior, I would guess she was either raised by humans and then set free or was cared for by a human at some point in her life. My cousins have saved entire litters of rabbits (after mom was killed) and set them free around 6 weeks of age, so they probably are more comfortable around humans. This bunny seems like a sweetheart and a great backyard friend. Just watch your garden when she's around !

Wild rabbits tend to be more lithe, they are have more muscle and do a lot of running. Their diet is also a looks different then our domestic rabbits'. Which is really funny when we look at out chunky rabbits lol!

If she does appear to be unusually bony and skinny, being unwell could also be a reason she is approaching your husband and doesn't have the characteristic skittishness of wild rabbits. Sick animals will sometimes behave this way.
