Hi there, does anyone know why my Rabbits eye is all goopy, it started a few days ago and I looked it up once I realized but I didn’t find any answers. If anyone knows what it could be that would be amazing and if there’s any home remedies for it that would be super appreciated

I have had my EA rabbit since August, and since then I have noticed his eyes would have some discharge that become a bit crusty. I clean it off his eyes each day. Also I notice he scratched around his head with his hind feet. What does that mean?

might be better to take him/her to the vet. weepy eyes are usually signs of dental issues :(

my bun had a goopy eye before, I took her to the vet thinking it was dental issues. Vet checked her teeth and said all are good, so he did a fluorescein dye eye test for tear duct blockage. No blockage either. But he still prescribed drops :)

Scratching around the head with the hind feet can just be normal scratching. Rabbits will scratch at their ears to get the ear wax out. It's when the scratching seems unusually excessive that it means there could be something going on there. And the crustiness at the corner of the eye, if it's just a tiny bit that isn't thick sticky and white, but is just a tiny bit that comes away, it sounds like it could just be normal eye crusties. But if the scratching does seem excessive, and/or if the eye crustiness is thick goopy discharge crusting up the fur around the eye, then best to have a knowledgeable rabbit vet check your rabbit out.

Lawrence gets eye crusties. When I used to try and get them, he would freak out, but now he seems to expect and enjoy it. He probably sees it as me being subservient to him and grooming him.

He's not wrong.

Just my own two cents...I think it's just allergies. My guy has had it as well off and on for about a month now. So has my dogs and cats.
