Hey ☺

I'm not a huge expert on special needs bunnies or bunnies IG, but do rabbits with head tilts need special vet care/ vet care more often?

Do you mean a rabbit that has already been treated and recovered from head tilt but has a residual tilt left from the bout with the illness? Or do you mean a rabbit that is currently ill with head tilt and needs the proper medical treatment?

one that already recoverd

It depends on if it was caused by e. cuniculi or an ear infection, and if any residual tilt remains after recovery and the severity of it. EC doesn't often clear up completely, so continued treatment or retreatment at a later point, is usually needed. With an ear infection as a cause, if the infection does get cleared up, then no retreatment is needed. But if there's permanent cell damage leaving a residual head tilt with either cause, depending on the severity of the residual tilt, ongoing vet care may be necessary.

Things like acupuncture or therapy to help with the muscle contraction causing the residual tilt and to help rebuild muscles. Also treatment of secondary problems caused by the tilt like incontinence causing skin problems, eye problems from the 'down' eye getting dried out and irritated or ulcerated from contact with the floor, or weight maintenance issues because of the difficulty the rabbit may be having eating. So all of these factors will determine if a recovered head tilt bun will need continued vet care.
