Hi everyone, so today one of my rabbits escaped from its pen (my daughter left the latch open) and was free roaming around the garden. My other rabbit (it’s brother) was in separate pen (they’ve been separated post neutering). I was so worried as I’ve kept them apart and not seeing each other. But- Flumpy hopped over to waffles pen and they were sniffing each other through the wire- I was frantically grabbing a towel to intervene but there were no signs of agression at all. Flumpy stayed for about 30 seconds sniffing each other then happily hopped off and waffles continued eating! They repeated this a few times. I was so shocked as 4.5 weeks ago they had a huge fight (before neutering). Should I continue with some short bonding sessions? Should I start some pre bonding now? (Swapping toys/teddies etc)? My plan was to wait 6-8 weeks before reintroducing but today has messed that up! What to do now?

They're both males right? it's possible their hormones have faded enough that bonding can be started now. Though I would proceed very cautiously and intervene immediately at the first sign either is still showing hormonal behavior or if either starts showing signs of getting aggressive. If they do then I would wait at least another couple of weeks before attempting bonding.
Thankyou. Yes, both males from the same litter. I may start the Prebonding now and do that for a month gradually increasing to just swapping them into each other’s hutch. But Swap a toy in each other’s hutch today to begin with. I don’t want to start too early and them have a big fight. But I was really pleased yesterday (although from what I’ve read up on, I know the tolerance between them may not last!) Thankyou for your advice.
