Flooring Suggestions?

Hi!
I recently started working on some bunny house renovations because I plan to be adopting another rabbit soon. One of the things I'd love advice on would be flooring options! My room is tiled and Scout absolutely HATES walking on it. He's a huge baby about it and unless I have carpets down, he prefers to stay in his "palace" (where his food/litter/bed/water are located) rather than walk around(he is free to roam all day long except while I sleep). I want to upgrade the flooring situation for him. I've seen some nice pads people have used for their pens and have been searching for some. Scout is one of those buns that is highly "addicted" to anything with silicone. He goes right for it and starts chewing away. So I don't know if those cute puzzle mats would be great for him? I have a feeling he would love to chew on that texture.
Basically, I'm looking for something Non-Slip, WASHABLE, and in a fabric that he cant easily destroy or eat it. Also something that hay doesn't really get "embedded" in would be amazing. I'm not exactly sure on sizing but anything goes at this point, I just need some ideas. Also preferably nothing that's crazy expensive. I'm working on a small budget.

Are you looking to cover the whole floor or parts of it?

Our floors are slippery laminate, and I've covered the bottom of their fenced night area with a huge piece of the kind of plastic mat that comes in a roll. Plus they have cotton rugs to hop on, but this way cleaning's easier and I don't need to cover every inch in rugs. As long as they don't have access to the edges of the plastic mat to nibble, they don't even know it's there. They just thinks it's the floor. The one I chose is matte, slightly textured, cheap but durable and their teeth can't destroy it (the edges are outside the fence or hidden under a big area rug by the gate.)

It's still a little bit slippery for them but pretty "hoppable" and nowhere near as bad as laminate. One even used to love to sleep right on it in the summer. And like I said, I also have small cotton rugs on top that are easy to wash.

You can put an area rug or foam puzzle squares down or fleece.

Our floors are hardwood and although Arlo doesn’t mind walking on it he tends to slip. We have foam mats down at the bottom of his playpen and put a fleece blanket on top of it as he was eating the mats. When we let him roam the room we just have a regular cheap area rug down and we also put a fleece blanket over it as well because he was attempting to eat the carpet lol.

Currently, I have laminate tile, and honestly, he could walk on it if he just wasn't so worried about slipping. He freaks out and tries to run fast and that's what makes him slip around LOL. I want him to feel confident in walking around though because I know that will lead to him fully enjoying the space and running around freely and happy. I've been looking at Wayfair rugs with short pile length (fiber height ) but I just wasn't sure if a rug was the way to go for ease of cleaning. Currently, I've got a piece of hard plastic like you mentioned covering about 2x2 of his "palace" and then fleece wrapped around bathroom foam mats for the rest of the space (he chews the bottom of the mats so I cover them with the fleece lol). I guess I'm just trying to decide now is it easier to pick things up and toss them in the wash to remove hair (while shedding) and hay... OR get a large rug, and just vacuum the hair and hay. Or sheesh, a mixture of the two??

Haha Im the same way, I just spent $40 on bed sheets for the ikea doll bed, maybe I should stop..... haha!

We had a bun that was afraid to venture out of his carpeted home room. We happened to have on hand a number of hallway runners from Costco at $9.99, apiece. So, we laid a trail of three or four of them them over the slippery floors. It didn't take long until the little rascal would occasionally step off the runners and it learned how to cope. It was only a matter of time that she was running everywhere in the house, slippery floor, or not.
