I’ve noticed that the rabbit community, whenever we have differing views, always gets so toxic with each other. Please tell me if anyone else notices this? And why do people have to be like this? Like, I understand that you care about the rabbit, but you also don’t know what that person is going through and berating them is most definitely not going to make them listen to you any better. Does anyone else notice how toxic the rabbit community can be?

I haven't noticed anything like this at all. I think that everyone is super helpful and friendly. I'm sorry that you feel this way!
Yes, there are definitely some friendly people out there too! I think it’s mostly in a group I follow on Facebook that is just kind of rigid and harsh.

I feel the same as jingle. Everyone has been super kind and supportive and I have made some really good friends. I agree that some people can be a bit harsh, but I have never ever seen them on this forum. 😊
This forum has been pretty kind! I think it’s mostly outside rabbit groups that I follow.

You find this pretty much in most groups out there on the internet. Really the problem is electronic communication removes people from true interactions as well as accountability for what is said. If someone says something rude or harsh to someone's face, they are right there and have to deal with the reaction and consequences of what they say. Someone says something rude or harsh on the internet, there's very little accountability for their actions besides the other persons response in writing, which conversation can be ended anytime by either person, or just getting banned from the group.

There is also the difficulty with communicating through writing. Misunderstandings can happen much more easily through written communication because you aren't seeing and hearing what the other person's reaction and emotions are in response to what you say. Then there is the fact that people seem to just be much less tolerant of others with differing opinions these days.

So I would say if this kind of treatment and behavior of others bothers you, it's a lesson, to not behave in the same way.. Be more patient, tolerant, and treat others better.

Yes I definitely agree that people are much less tolerant of others these days, people aren’t open to agreement or compromising, it’s their way or no ones way, and they view themselves as they always have the right answer. I definitely think media has taken people away, and made people more like robots, and takes away their emotions and empathy for others.
