What does dandruff mean

Hey guys, it’s been a week since haru went to the vet, and she hasn’t been itching or anything, today i saw something on her shoulder, I didn’t know if it was dandruff or hay dust, I tried to remove it, it looked like dandruff, i saw it on her ear too, I’ve been observing her all the time and this is the first time I’m seeing it, it’s very little, like maybe 2 flakes on her ear, and 3 on her back, then she flopped and I saw some on her side near her leg. What could it be other than mites¿ I don’t think it’s mites because she’s not really itching.

But she was vaccinated, would she still get it?

If you’re saying that the flakes that i saw wasn’t skin but the mites it self, then I don’t think it’s mites because when I scratched her with my nails I saw more flakes falling out like it was her skin? The medication that she took before was doramectin, does it prevent getting parasites¿ or is it only a treatment¿ I took her to different vets and all of them told me that she should take it, but after she took it my friend told that I shouldn’t and now I’m confused

Jenny is more versed in medications so I'll let her expand on this. But from what I understand, doramectin is very specific for a burrowing type of mite but not for fur mites. Ivermectin is what is effective against fur mites (and some other mites as well).

How do I know if it’s fur mites or just dandruff? there are no scabs or anything, but if it was mites, then she should’ve got them one or two weeks ago, i don’t think she would get scabs and bald spots from the first two weeks, and she was shaved I can’t tell it it’s a bald spot because of the mites or not does it affect humans?

Isn’t it supposed to move¿ the mites I mean, it’s only on her right shoulder, and right ear, i saw one flake and took a picture of it, when I came back it was in the same spot, I’m taking her to the vet tomorrow.

I took her to the vet today, I told him about the dandruff, when he was looking for it, it wasn’t there anymore , I tried to show it to him but I couldn’t find it, he told me to expose her to the sun, and check her skin after a few days, if it wasn’t red, nos scabs or anything, it should be fine
