hello guys, i just took haru to get spayed.. the vet started the surgery and called me saying that there is no womb!! He told me that it should be clear but he cannot find it so it could be that she was spayed before i got her, or that she has some weird condition and that her womb is hidden behind the colon, he said that because her stomach is full he can’t move the colon because it’s very fragile. I’m getting very worried right now. If she was spayed and they lied to me about it when i got her, that means that they probably lied about her age too right? when i got her she should have been 4 months and two weeks, could they spay her before that? but i feel like she grew bigger since i got her. i'm really mad and worried, i feel like i spent money and got her hurt for nothing. also i have some quistions, as i said before, her behavior changed when she grew up! she's clingy and isn't 100% litter trained, she bit me three times and scrached me once, and the smell... isn't all that hormonal? i thought that if i got her spayed then all of that would change? could she be already spayed when she acts like that?

Hi, it would be very unlikely that she was spayed before she was 4 months old, at least you should be able to see a scar on her belly and it had to be shaved then.
Normally vets are willing to spay from 4,5 months or later.
If you feel she can be older than you were told it might be possible but I can't see why someone paid for neutering and then lied to you?

It also can be that your vet isn't experienced? During the surgery ovaries and uterus are removed it sounds a bit strange to me of what you were told.

I am a bit lost now since in September you said she was 10 months old?? Or it was another bunny?

Hello guys. I got a new bunny 4 days ago and she is my first. Everyday I learn something new about her. Three days ago a bought her hay and she started to sneeze so I thought that it was an allergic reaction from the hay so I tried my best to remove the dust before giving it to her. Today she sneezed maybe 5 times in a row and i got worried. I looked it up, and they said to look for discharge. Her nose and eyes isn’t wet but i saw a very small white discharge and I don’t know if it’s real or I’m starting to see things because I’m worried, I tried to take a picture but it didn’t show. She slept, eat, and drink more than usual, but still she is new and everyday she does something different. She also pooped and peed more but it looks fine. She is not potty trained but she used to pee in a corner, now she is peeing in the corner and every where else and even sits in it. She is 10 months old and she is not spayed yet. when she is sleeping she breath slower 46 times per minute and she close her eyes

This is why i think that they lied to me about her age, when i saw her they told me she’s 7 months, when I bought her they said she’s 10, when i took her to the vet he said she’s probably 5, so my mom called and told them to ask the person who brought her to the shop, after that they said that she was born in April 21

That's all very confusing, if she is older than you thought in theory she could be spayed before you got her but how do we know that. I am very sorry about your situation I think vet should see the scar on her belly from previous surgery if she was spayed a few months ago.

What they say that they can't find womb(?) because her stomach is full sounds really weird. Rabbits have to keep eating before surgery, unlike cats and dogs so it is normal that her stomach was full.

I don't know how to help you this situation is really weird, hope your vet will be able to do something or at least won't damage anything. Really sorry, please keep us updated.

About the age.. they could’ve lied about it, but as I said, she grew a little bit bigger, i don’t think that she’ll do that if she was older right? the vet isn't as experienced as the ones in your country, but i'm 100% sure that he's the best vet in my country, he told me that there's no uterus. i never saw a rabbits stomach from the inside and i don't plan on looking it up, but the vet said that their uterus is big and if it was there then he would see it, is that correct? or are there other intestines above it that could hide it? i think him being more careful and not looking too much and touching everything is better than doing the opposite right? i just saw him, he said he did it for more than hundred rabbits and every time he does it, the uterus would be clear as day, but haru.. her colon was the one that's full and clear, and he didn't want to poke too much. about the scar, he said that some vets does the surgery from the side or something

I don't know sorry, maybe @JBun will have more comments on that or maybe we have some hidden vets on this site who have practical knowledge of spaying surgeries. Hope your girl will be alright fingers crossed

At least i got her fur shaved, I didn’t want her to look bald and patchy, but she never lets me brush her, the vet said that there was ALOT of matted fur, she looks ugly now😂😂 but that’s better than her ingesting it.

He said that she could be born this way (without a uterus) I looked it up and saw someone talking about their rabbit having the same condition

Now please tell me what I should do to help her get better, I looked up, but no one talked about what I should do at the moment that she wakes up, I took her as soon as she woke up, she’s trying to get up but she can’t so she’s falling alot and I’m worried that she might hurt herself

I know that its going to take her some time to get up again, but when can she at least sit? she's been laying down head to the floor, trying to get up, her hands and legs are going everywhere, i don't want her to get hurt or feel uncomfy, in this condition i can't even force feed her

You know when rabbits sleep, their eyes can look down or to the side right? her eye was like that, but then she moved, she wasn’t sleeping, is that a side effect of the anesthesia?
