You need to rabbit-proof! That means, blocking off areas that he shouldn't get into, covering cords so he can't chew them, spraying nasty spray on things he shouldn't chew, etc.

Decide if you want him to free roam 24/7 or if you want him to have a home base where he gets put at night. A playpen is a good home base! You can still have a home base for him even if you don't lock him up. Below is a picture of an open home base example, but if you ever needed to lock the rabbit up, you could easily put a playpen in that area. The home base would be the place that the rabbit ate, and used the bathroom.

@Robbierabbit You can use playpens for that. There are lots of playpens which help your rabbit because you can provide a lot of space to your bunny. Also, it will help you too as a bunny can chew everything 🤣🤣🤣 . Here is the list of playpens. If you find these too small then you can buy 2-3or add "Pen Extension Panel". Check this site for playpen:- X Pen For Rabbits – Best Rabbit Exercise Pens 2020 -

What do you mean? I don't want to use a play pen as he escapes from them somehow so im going to free roam him in my bedroom.

Okay. He loves to chew stuff, and he kept escaping from his last play pen, maybe a dog crate as a homebase would be okay?
I will bunny proof, but how do I bunny proof my fully wooden bed?

Very simple, start saving up for a metal frame 😂 Just kidding (though it would be helpful to have metal furniture), there are several options for rabbit proofing wood. You can put a playpen around it, block it off with NIC grids (if you use NIC grids, connect them using zip ties, because the connecter pieces don't work well), put packaging tape on the chosen corners, or spray nasty spray on it (the nasty spray works for Theo, I just have to reapply every so often).

Are you talking about a playpen or an exercise pen. An exercise pen should be over 30" in height. Here is an example:
It was 4.6 foot high and he still somehow escaped. Exercise pen not playpen

Okay , thanks 😊❤️

Ones that tall are typically quite heavy so it's doubtful the escape was from scooting underneath (as some may do with lighter weight pens). There are some rarer rabbits that have been known to literally climb an exercise pen wall if it has enough cross bars. So perhaps yours is a climber.

Another possibility is if the ends of the pen aren't secure and bunny pushes it aside. OR, there is a box or hidey near the pen wall that serves as a step to hop over the wall. He surely is not hopping over 4.6 feet as that would be well over the world record.

This kind of exercise pen doesn't have as many cross bars (horizontal bars) so that should work better for preventing climbers from climbing.

Okay, it was a pretty light one made of c+c grids. 2x10 play pen . And each grid is 12inch

So I will free roam, and could I use a dog crate as a homebase?

The XL dog crate can serve as a home base cage. I would still consider investing in an actual ex-pen (as opposed to the grids). It would be good to have one to transition him to free roam. (Remember, it is best to start slowly with free roaming as explained in the link already provided above.)

Ex-pens are handy to have for any rabbit owner because they can serve so many uses:
