Hi everyone 🐰

Just as the title ask I wonder how you handle set backs and trying to stay positive when life feel a bit hard. You can skip reading from here and just answer the question if you want to ☺️

Myself have started to feel a bit suffocating with every day life and I’m quite tired putting up a front of being strong and can handle everything.

I had to back down from working because I would take care of covid-19 patient but my health aren’t up for that. So I choiced to tell my boss I can’t work, while I still don’t know what the problem with my health is.

I’m going to go to a cardic speciallist for a check up and see if they can find the reason. Myself was hoping it was just the same problem it had been before which would have been easy to fix, that would just regulate my medicines.

I can handle always feeling tired and that my memory aren’t up on top because of the normal exhaustion, I’ve learned to handle it.

I put all my focus on Odin and Toste, just to distract my mind and find a bit of escape from the daily stress from my university studies and work. I truly look forward when I can pick up the new baby girl.

But some days I just feel a bit annoyed with them and won’t spend a lot of time with them. Just because I feel extra tired and sleep away my days. At least I make sure to keep their area cleaned, that they have toys and branches to chew. Odin don’t really care he will binky and do zoomies whenever he wants and Toste have started to be more tough. He have started to seek for attention from the rest of the family and have become my little shadow in the house following me around. Today was the first time I have seen Toste do zoomies indoors and he have also started to give me a few kisses. So he have done huge steps towards trusting humans and building his bond towards me.

Yet, when I saw a person nearby looking for a neutered buck for her spayed doe, I still had the thought of giving Toste up. Because I start to doubt if I give everything they need.

I didn’t reach out to that person because Toste need veterinary care, his snuffles refuses to go away and he might have gotten mites. Which would explain him scratching the ears and losing a bit of fur. I’m taking him to the vet tomorrow morning and hope he will get a treatment that will help.

I know these thoughts kick in when I feel down and I feel too exhausted to care for the bunnies. I never neglect my bunnies and they are happy with their everyday life.

So what do you do when you feel a bit down and have a bit of trouble pulling yourself back up again. What I usually do don’t work, so I need to find another way ☺️

One day at a time. My father in law was complaining about his problems at the hospital til a kid with Cerebal Palsy came in riding in a wheelchair. I have a lot of health problems I have to deal with--smoking parents growing up and while pregnant and 3 tours in a combat zone with Agent Orange. Every day I wake up is a blessing. Don't dwell on the negative or you'll be overwhelmed.

For me, art is very calming. I take an art class at a gallery which had to move online due to Covid 19.
IMG_2888.JPGThis image was really relaxing to work on. It doesn't seem like it, since it is a skull. It was relaxing since I was able to go outside and let Bunster run around while I drew. I love doing art. That's my way of calming down.

That's very cool! You're incredibly skilled!

I find a walk or drive always helps me clear my head, especially to a place I'm unfamiliar with. I like making maps in my head and knowing all the neat secrets of an area. It helps to focus on how amazing an area is and I often have my breath taken away by a place I have no idea existed. It tends to help that it leaves me tuckered out and I get to listen to my music while exploring. I hope you can find some peace

Thanks for the tips, I’ll try it and see if I can stress down again and get back to normal 😊

I’ll try to take walks in forest and around the lake to let my mind relax. Maybe drag Odin with me to one of the meadows around. He likes going out and will often binky. I will just need to make him more use with grass, so he can be out and eat grass for a longer time.

I really hope you find what you are looking for and can reach a higher point. You've been so welcoming and understanding here in cyberspace, I really admire your ability to be so kind during a time in which you feel out of step. Let any of us know if you require support on here, I'd be glad to offer some. I hope the clouds clear soon. :)

Thanks for your kind words Mac, I’ll be pulling myself up. It might just be a lot of stress over time that pushing me over the edge right now. At least I will have a bit of summer break this year and can try to rest up ☺️

When I'm feeling down and "checked out" with life, I resort to listening to music and working on puzzles. I love 1,000+ pieces and more. I also found a new hobby with diamond paintings. You literally have hundreds if not thousands of little beads that you have to put together to create an image. You match the beads to the color map provided. While others wonder how these things are comforting, I find them relaxing. My brain is focused on what's in front of me and not so much about thinking of my issues. I attached a picture of what my boyfriend and I just finished yesterday :). This one was a smaller piece. I've done one that the entire thing was made of beads and it's about 20 x 18 I think, can't remember.

Life can hit you unexpectedly and quite hard so your feelings are completely valid. Take things one day at a time. Remember, you're not expected to always be strong and it's okay to not feel okay. If you ever need to talk to someone, reach out. I know I'm always checking this forum every day so I'm here if you ever need to talk!

Thanks @Mehidk, truly seem like a fun hobby and it turn out really good. I know when I was a kid I liked puzzle if I was not playing games. But I have stopped playing games until my university studies are done. I get a dopamine and adrenalin rush when I play games. So not the smartest idea to start playing, otherwise I’ll be hooked again and have a hard time focusing on my studies 😒

Games have been a big part of my childhood and my older brothers had different console games which I always could play when I felt down or wanted to relax. But since I started to focus on university I had to put my hobby down.

So I’m trying to find new way for me to let my mind and body rest. Don’t really want to head into a wall and spend most of my days sleeping because I feel extremly exhausted, those days I’m only awake to eat my food and let the bunnies out, I will sleep around 16-18 hours. So I don’t want to head into one of those periods again. I truly turn into a snorlax 😒

I used to game a lot when I was younger. I was dedicated to Final Fantasy until they started getting ridiculous after XIII. Kingdom Hearts is also one of my favorites. When I got KH3 earlier this year, I played for a good several hours until I got stuck on one of the lands. Then I've been taking a massive break because the last Heartless boss made me so mad lol.

You know, you take some really good photos of the buns. What about doing some photography as a side hobby?

I can try and see if photography can be a thing, might use Odin in all my pictures. We can go on an adventure in the forest and different nature reserve.

Myself never got stuck with final fantasy or kingdoms of heart. I liked playing bioshock and my favorite game as a child was beyond the good and evil and also pokemon with my game boy. Later it was pvp games and shooting games, the reason why I could get quite mad while playing. Worse is when you lose internet connection while playing or get fps drops 😂

But I have started to go back to games that tell a story and you do missions, latest was some survival game with canibals and night monsters . But I got the ori and the blind forest which I haven’t played through yet, I love the sound tracks and the game ☺️

Odin would be the perfect model since he's already a pro at being adorable in front of a camera ;). I think it would be a nice little thing for you to spend even more time together and you'll be able to be outdoors which I've always loved myself.

I was never much of a one person shooter, I enjoyed more the RGB stuff. Part of the main problem is I can get motion sickness easily and trying to see from that POV would start making me feel nauseous. Nowadays, it's starting to get even harder to watch my boyfriend play GTA, especially when he's flying the helicopter. Never got to play Ori but the visuals on it look great!

Odin is quite the model and easy to handle, I'll try during the summer if I don't mess up my last exam before summer

I get what you mean with motion sickness, I also get it sometimes when I play games but I have learnt to handle it a bit better. I can't even use a swing without getting motion sickness 😂

I'm not the funniest person to drag to an amusement park because I can't ride any of the attractions without getting motions sickness and my fear of heights make me feel dizziness, because I feel like everythings swaying.

Ugh I meant to say RPG but my fingers wrote RGB (Graphic Designer brain going right now). But at least I hope you know what I meant! 😂

I'm the same way!! I used to enjoy going on the swing when I was little but now I can barely handle the motion. I have to keep a foot on the ground so that way my brain reminds myself that I'm on the floor, not in the air. I could never go on the big rides like my friends. They would be going on the ones where it would go at such a steep angle, just watching them from the ground gave me anxiety lol. Not too long ago I started taking Dramamine to help with motion sickness when I would go to Disneyland and it would help! I felt a little quesy afterwards but once I got my footing, I was okay again. Unfortunately, it's not something that a person should take every day though.

I understood what you meant have played a few RPG :D

I don't take any motion sickness pills until I'm going to travel somewhere, I can't go without my motion sickness medicines otherwise the trip would be a true stuggle o_O

Same. I definitely need them for when I go on an airplane and I also need to sit towards the front of the airplane because I feel more of the elevation when I sit in the back. I can't do boats either. I've learned to accept that I will never be able to enjoy a cruise. Most people have told me they use the patch when they go on cruises but my motion sickness is pretty sensitive and I would hate to waste a lot of money on something that I won't enjoy.

I travelled by boat for a longer time once, it was a three days trip to an island. I spent most of my time up on the bunk bed and only stuck with eating light meals.

Because I didn’t like the boat trip we took the airplane back. That was also scary the runway was short so it was quite a steep take off. But we was lucky because we flew over the tropical hurricane. The place we stayed at was unreconcilable the day after we left. We had no idea a tropical storm was going to strike.

Everytime my mom want to do a boat trip, I run the other way. I’m not doing long trips on boat again 😂

What I try to do to stay positive is go out to nature and plant some fresh veggies or just go out for a walk in my backyard and look up and the sky. I feel that when you go out to nature it really does help to ease the mind from negative thoughts or the feeling of being unmotivated. I am too out of work due to covid19. I always remind myself that I am not alone in this. In February it was really rough for me finding out bad news about a loved one and having to go through this feeling of pain, mourning and sorrow all alone. When I adopted Peneloppy she has helped a lot emotionally physically and mentally because while I was still feeling all those emotions she has helped keep me busy and moving on my feet. I’d say find things that make you happy, or learning new things that interest you and just know that everything will be okay one day at a time and that it’s okay to sometimes feel those emotions because we all do if you’re feeling stress, meditation always help or going out for a walk even exercising and listening to calm music helps :) I hope that helped you!🙂
