I built a new cage/ entertainment center for the buns! They love it. Still waiting for the artificial grass to come in to put on the floor for them.

That's so cute and cool! Do they still get runaround time also? It looks like they love the new cage!

Yes they do. Majority of the time they get to be out and about. They have the living room, kitchen, and a screened in deck to run around it.

That area looks awesome! If my Coco was not free roam, I would love to have something like that! One thing I suggest is not using a hay rack and just filling the litter box with hay. Hay racks tend to not only not hold enough hay, but the bars are not wide enough to get the hay. I line my litter box with a reusable pee pad that I got off Amazon for 5 bucks, then I use about 2 or 3 handfuls of wood stove pellets in the place where she pees most, and then I fill it to the brim with hay. By the end of day 2, the hay is all gone and I change the litter box. Theres a video on youtube from Lennon The Bunny explaining how to set up a great litter box if you want to check it out. Other than that, great home the buns! They seem very content!

Thats a good idea! Thank you. The hay thing I have is actually nice and has wide enough bars but the litter box is big enough and it makes more sense!

Creative idea with the cage areas. :) I was also going to mention the hay rack. Just so you know, the one you currently have holds less than 1/4 of what the 2 rabbits should be eating each day. In other words, unless that rack is being refilled 4 x every day, the rabbits are not eating enough hay. By putting large amounts directly in the litter box, they should be able to get enough.

What is the green stuff on the upper level on the right side?

Its fake moss.

And I do fill it up quite often. Which doesn't bother me but it would be nice not to have to do that.

That is cool! I'm sure your bunnies love it!

Why do you have food pellets in the litter box instead of just a bowl somewhere else? Just curious. :)

I used to have them in a bowl somewhere else but they kept pushing it out of the cage and on the floor. So when I got the hay thing it has a dish built in so I just put them in there. It seems to be working out better and they actually seem to like it there better

@overhear I kind of did a napkin drawing on this, but if you are interested I would be happy to draw it up for you and show you what I did, with a few added improvements and things I would have done differently. I was limited with being in an apartment, on what I could actually do. I would also give you a list of materials needed. Just let me know. This hutch is 8feet x 2feet approximately each end is about 6ft x 2ft, and a tunnel to connect the 2 ends. I would also be happy to draw up something different.

Thanks for the kind offer, @Abby Kyhos. I haven't decided exactly where to put my hutch so I'm still unsure how much room I'll have to work with. I've seen some designs like yours that use Ikea cabinets as a base. Did you build yours completely from scratch? Congrats again on the beautiful hutch!
