Apollo is being strange today.

Not strange in behaviour| he ran around a lot, he ate a lot, and is pooping.

It started about an hour ago when he sat like this (see first picture) and I assumed he was getting gas. I asked my dad to get baby gas drops and he said that he can only get them by Friday. So I’m going to ask my mum if we can get them tomorrow. I gave him grass from my garden because I wasn’t aware that went allowed it if they have gas?

He is starting to get sore hocks on his feet which I called my vet about and they said to just make sure he’s eating. (See third picture.)

And another thing is that he’s got a wet face kind of. Only one side is wet. (See second picture.) He hasn’t drank any water just now. But I gave him cold chamomile tea (without anything in it). He’s been napping for the past few hours which is normal. He hops around for a few moments in between naps, eats a bit of hay and then flops anywhere in the room.

I have nutri-rescue that I can give him if have to. He’s used to eating things through a syringe because I’ve been giving him applesauce (without sugar, just pure apple), and banana and other things every so often through a syringe to get him used to it.
What do you think that I should do?

Hi, I'm sorry this is happening. I hope he will be ok. As you already know, I'm a beginner so I won't be able to help you much. Maybe call the vet about the other things you told us about? (Wet face, etc)

Good luck!

Glad to hear. I suggest you pick up some baby gas drops anyway so you always have it hand. :)
Thank you! I ordered them online as soon as the behaviour started. I wasn’t allowed to leave the house to go out and get any because my mum has asthma and my family has a few health problems, so my mum didn’t want anyone to leave the house. The baby gas drops were meant to arrive on the Friday, but they arrived yesterday 😕. But at least i have them! 🥳

glad to hear he's okay! Just curious cause I am a new bun mom :) you gave them chamomile tea for them to keep calm/sleep? Also how do you know if he's getting gas? I was informed you may give them simethicone but I don't know what are the signs if he has gas? Thanks! :)

You can also always get fennel seeds or dill seeds from any food store and brew some tea when needed give it same as you'd give gas drops a few times a day, it works perfectly for gas and bloating.

Don't give just dry or wet seeds, brew some tea without any sugar or honey etc and filter and give just as gas drops or fill an extra water bottle with it some rabbits like this tea and would drink just like they drink their water, in this case you can dilute 1:1 with boiled water, not hot just room temperature.

P.S. I would also suggest stating your question in your title more clearly as many of us have busy lives and don't have time to read all threads 100% so if your problem is described shortly in your title you'd get more attention from people who might have experience with it. Otherwise we have 20 threads with same title like HELP! Problem! I need advice! Your opinion please! Can anyone help me? URGENT! Need attention please! Please help with my rabbit! etc.
I personally often report those threads so Moderator could rename them as it gets just difficult to find right thread sometimes. I think it should be stated in forum rules on the front page!

P.P. S. And no, I am not having a bad day and I am not a grouch and I don't hate anybody I just like this site and want it to be nice and easy to use. Peace.

Hmm, I’ve never thought of it that way. I understand that though. I generally didn’t really know what was going on, so i was a little unsure of what to name it.

Thank you! I made him camomile tea on the day I posted this also. He hated it so I gave it to him through a syringe. If this ever comes up again, I’ll have to get some seeds!

Thank you! I gave him camomile tea to help with gas but herbal teas such as camomile can help keep a rabbit calm. I’ve heard that it can help external things such as sore hocks, but I’ve never tried it.

Some signs of gas:

Hunched position
Not being able to get comfortable
Pressed stomach
Loud gurgling from stomach
Lethargy
Not eating
Low temperature
