Hello, I'm back with more questions.
So my 7-year old bunny Mimmi who recently lost her sister has now been moved inside.
Since I moved her in I noticed her stomach was making a lot of noises and after some research, it's most likely some gas-problem. It probably occured due to stress from losing her sister and then being moved inside. Luckily she's still eating like she usually does, maybe a little less due to pain from gas. I have only feed her hay, she's drinking water and I just started to give her some medication. I bought a medicine called "Minifom" which is the Swedish version of simethicone basically. So we'll see how that turns out.
Another problem I have is that her poop is quite bad (I just started giving her some A-fil, it's kinda similar to yoghurt but less sweet and sugary, that was recommended by the vet a while ago. So I'm trying that again for my rabbits poo) and she's wet underneath. I don't know if it urineinfection like her sister had, or if it's some liquid that can come out from pooping due to her gas problems. I'm a bit confused, do you guys know what it could be?
So basically, I'd like to give her a bath, however, she's already so stressed and I have given her baths before, but she always goes into something of a shock so I don't really wan't to do it. I do my best to wipe her with baby wipes, that's a much safer option to go with at the moment. But it's not really enough. But what do you guys think I should do?

I'm trying my best to fix it on my own without having to take her to the vet, but I wanted to check here first and try the medicine I have. If things don't get better OR if it were to get worse, I'll definitely take her to the vet.

You can do a spot clean her, taking a wet towel and clean her bottom. You can also take a low bassin/ bowl and just fill it with luke warm water, have something on the bottom so she can get a grip like a towl. The paws should only get wet while giving her something to eat and carefully wash her behind.

Is your vet good with bunnies?

You can slowly massage her stomach but I truly don’t find fil a good thing for bunnies. When the treats yogurt drops can mess their stomach up.

( fil bör inte alls vara bra för kaniner. Då de inte kan hantera laktos. De är som de flesta djur laktosintoleranta. Det är bara människan som kan hantera laktos).

Hope everythings go well with her and hope it’s only gas, if it gas miniform should work but otherwise take her to the vet and get better medication for her.

Thank you for the bathing tips!
As for my vet, she is a good vet and has helped us with some of our bunnies problems. She handles horses and small animals such as rabbits, hamsters and so on. But I do feel like it would be a good idea to try a different vet, both get a second opinion and to see who's the best choice for our rabbits.
The A-fil doesn't seem to have done her any damage but rather the opposite from what I can see. But I will definitely be more careful with it and if we end up needing to go the vet, we will most likely try out a different one.
I appriciate the response, thank you!

Hi Guys,
IMPORTANT! Exercise and massage and feed!!!!
I am blessed to say that my rabbit just recovered from a complete over 12 hour blockage. Could have lasted longer because I only noticed when I woke up that he wasbt eating and just sat in the corner of his cage with no movement.
We went to the vet and he got some meds that would help(he got hydrated and an injection to unblock) and critical care which we were told to sirenge feed him. We fed him A LOT all day and massaged his belly. In the evening my boyfriend read about how exercise helps them overcome gas. So we took him to the end of the garden and made him run for a few minutes, and he came back and pooed a few bits. After that he did a while pile. So please see the vet, exercise, keep it hydrated and massage the belly and sirenge feed him.
Thank you
Nat.

Wow, I'm really happy that your bunny overcame it! That must have been very stressful but you guys did a great job recovering him.
Mimmi is eating (a bit more than she did before), drinking and moving around. I'm keeping an eye on her as well as massaging her a bit and when I'm at school my mom does it for me (she doesn't work so she's usually home most of time working outside in the garden and so on. So basically she can keep a good eye on the rabbits). We just started giving her the minifom and if her stomach is still making sounds, I will definitely take her to the vet!

Please take to Vet ASAP as they will provide the right meds and pain relief... The sooner the bunny gets to the vet the better. Good luck and please let me know how things go

Okay so, her stomach is still making sounds and I convinced my parents to let me take her to the vet. So well see what they have to say and what I can do!

I don't know if you are giving her infant gas drops, but that could also help.

Yeah, if I understood correctly from what I've read, minifom is infant gas drops, but it hasn't really helped. Well not for her at least, so it might be something else.

Well, I did finally convince my parents to take Mimmi to the vet, BUT, of course, the vets that are knowledgeable when dealing with rabbits weren't there... but they'll be there on Tuesday, so that's when we'll be going. But that's three days from now and I'm feeling worried but I can't do much about it... I am gonna talk to my parents and check if I can take her to "blå stjärnan" which is very expensive (which is why my parents will most likely not want to take her there, cause were building on our house which is already costing us a lot) but they are very good.

My parents make me pay for Theo's vet trips, food, housing, etc. Just recently when he got sick I had to spend $200 to get him into the vet. I was going to use that money to finish building him a huge outdoor run. I am getting a job this summer to replenish the $200. If you have some money, and you are willing to spend it on your rabbit, offer to pay for the vet visit. If you don't have money, get a job during the summer and pay your parents back with the money you make.

Yeah, I do have money on my account (at least that's what my parents say) and I have said once before to take money out of there no matter how much it costs to go to the vet. But they ended up paying that time cause we all agreed to go to the vet.
I am turning 18 this year so I will be able to manage my money by myself and I'm planning to get a summer job so I can save up money for the bunnies for visiting the vet and other things. So basically I'll be able to take them to vet and other things before needing to discuss it with my parents.
Right now tho I'll have to discuss with them about taking her to "blå stjärnan" using my money. So we'll see how that works out!
It can be quite expensive to care for a rabbit so I'm actually quite impressed that your parents make you pay for everything. But it sounds like you're doing a great job! My family all togheter agreed to have bunnies so that's why I don't really pay for everything but yeah.

I hope you can take her to the vet!

And it is really hard to pay for all of his supplies when I'm 13, but I have a cleaning job and a babysitting job that pay a little.

Blå stjärnan it’s great, they helped me a lot when it was acute problems with my bunnies. I was close to nearly put Odin to sleep, his vet cost went up to 700$, if he needed surgery it would had been over 5000$ which I don’t have laying around (poor student) and the insurance only cover 1000$. So I only need to pay 75$ + 25% of the original cost for my bunnies while the insurance will cover the rest of the cost up to around 1000$. I was lucky that he recovered after staying at the vet for more than 24 hours, otherwise I would had to put him down or pay more for the days he stayed at the vet. Because there was no way for me to pay over 5000$, when I only work part time with a low salary. That was one hell of expensive slippers to chew on.

So when your bunny get better, make sure to to fix an insurance it only cost around 60kr/månad. Take the one that cover up to 20.000kr. It will truly help when something bad happens again. All my bunnies have insurance, even my 7 year old french lop :)

I always go to “Blå stjärnan” when my bunnies get sick while I go to other vets to just do health check ups and shots. Because they have the best bunnies vet. Lucky you that your parents have money put away for you. My parents couldn’t do that for me, so I always had to work to get the money for my bunnies while studying.

I hope everything go well with your doe and that you can find what’s wrong with her.

Om my gosh, the fact that you are 13 and you're doing all the rabbit care makes it even more impressive, keep up the good job!! I wish I was that good at your age!

Wow, yeah that's a lot of money! We never got insurance for any of our bunnies, but I really think that would be a good idea.
We never went to the "blå stjärnan" now because my parents said that we were only two days away from meeting the vet (which is tomorrow now) and last time we went to this vet clinic they seemed to really now what they were doing. Hopefully it'll still be like that. That was almost 2 years ago now, but I still have a rather good feeling about it. I can't remember how much it costs, but it's a bit cheaper than "blå stjärnan". But yeah, I hope everything works out as well, if not, "blå stjärnan" next.

I'm struggling right now to get insurance on my own rabbit right now. It's been several weeks and the insurance company has been telling me that my medical history on Trixie is not enough. Stupid me had mentioned about a lump when I first applied and so they want a definitive diagnosis of the lump. I took her to the vet and the vet said the lump was fat and she did not think it was necessary to put Trixie under anesthesia especially since the lump had not changed since we noticed it. I submitted paperwork for the second time so we'll see. The insurance company (Nationwide) is the only company that does exotic pet insurance in California too. Ugh so frustrating...

I can understand this, made the same stupid mistake with Odin. I had to make a few more vet check ups until they accepted him and it was perfect in time for him getting GI stasis. So I managed to dodge a bullet there.
