Curious how folks groom their rex rabbits. I've heard their skin or fur is sensitive so I'm really not sure what to use...

They don't really need much grooming. Just the occasional nail trimming. If they're molting pretty heavily I often just take my hand or a damp paper towel to pull the molting fur out.

I like to use quite a lot to prepare my Mini Rex. Clear distilled Witch Hazel I rub in daily to my show rex, or on the off occasion just water, but that doesn't have the same effect. These help to clear the coat of any lumps of bumps and cleanse it for a better texture. Just MAKE SURE that you rub it in thoroughly otherwise the coat will curl. And just a little bit.
I then use the mitts that you use to groom dogs, like gloves with rubber bristles on the hand to get the coat flowing then follow up with a chamois leather.
Hope this helps! :)

Is there an alternative to the chamois leather? I’m vegan and don’t want to buy leather it makes me feel guilty

This is what the rabbit people at our state fair use.

to my knowledge rabbits are self cleaning so i don’t wash or put any products on my rabbit. i let her do her own thing. but when she does shed i take one of those silicone dog brushes and lightly rub in circles over her fur (which she enjoys) to get some of the shed off her, and i take her to the vet to clip her nails.

Rabbits are self-cleaning and don't need baths but still need to be brushed at least weekly more for longer haired breeds less for breeds like mini rex and rex and only with this special tool or a damp hand for mini and regular rex.

good to know, i’ve been going off what a vet said and my rabbits behavior towards grooming. she doesn’t like being wet or those hand glove brushes.
