Recently my rabbit started to shed (at least I think she has). It happened seemingly out of nowhere and I sort of confused. At first, I thought everything was fine and started to brush her. Whilst brushing her she would flinch when a brushed past a certain spot and once again I brushed it off. While I was brushing her today I decided to investigate the spot and found this black spot on her skin. It has a rough texture and feels like dried blood in one half, but the other half feels flat. The fur around the area also has a few bits of blood on them and there are these little white dots attached to some of them (no idea what they could be).

I'm really concerned for my bunny and would like any advice I can receive. The only reason I'm not going straight to the vet is because my family doesn't have pet insurance and we're not well off in the slightest, so going straight to the vet doesn't work for us. If the advice I get is to send her to the vet we can do that, don't worry!

Here's a picture of the spot: KakaoTalk_20190817_164335430.jpg

Mites might be the culprits. I don't know if you can lifestock medication for that in something like Tractor Supply or feed stores in Canada.

It's a spot on his back where he can't reach, right?

The spot is on her back and I'm pretty sure she can't reach it.

I got something called Stronghold from the vet, applied it twice 3 weeks apart, mites gone.

There isn't much else than mites that comes to mind, others may have different opinions.
