I’m new to this forum thing. I’ve been a long time reader, but never posted one myself before. So if this is in the wrong area or anything, please forgive me.
I recently bought a Lionhead. After purchase I was told she was bred and possibly pregnant.
Today is day 30. I put in a nest box in her exercise pen on day 28 and she began to dig in it. However, she’s only dug in it a handful of times and ignores it or eats out of it most of the time! She hasn’t pulled fur. I can’t comment on her temperament and moods because I didn’t have her before she was possibly pregnant. I also didn’t have her in time to palpitate (sp?)
Is it possible the digging in the nest box alone is a sign of pregnancy? Today is day 30 and the internet varies on gestation period. I’m kind of concerned and this is my first rodeo with a pregnant doe so anxious is an understatement.
Any advice would be so much appreciated!

Hi, welcome to the forum!
I think you did all good she has her nest box it is not necessary she starts pulling fur on day 28, some rabbits starting a week before and some just an hour before or even after giving birth so no need to worry yet.
Most of rabbits give birth on day 31 but it can take longer in some rare cases up to 43 days.
If she is pregnant and it is day 30 you don't even have to palpate if she lets you to hold her or put your hand on her belly you should feel babies moving inside when you hold your hand for a few minutes. Also when she lays on her back sometimes you can see her fur moving on her belly when babies kicking.
So there's no need to worry she will when she's ready, some don't like to be watched at all and a little covered area around the nest box would give her some privacy, it can be a blanket for example or something, I don't know what's your setup.

Generally, she will do everything and needs no assistance but I understand you are ready to help and all :))

How old is she is that her first pregnancy? She's a beauty :)

Just make sure she has a plenty of water give her some extra bottle or bowl she will drink a lot when it begins.

She is a little over a year. As far as I know, she had a couple successful pregnancies with her original owner.
She has been sitting in her nest box most of the day but every once and awhile she will dig!
I’m just super nervous! Someone said I probably stressed her out moving her and she may have aborted the babies. I would be horrified if that was my fault!

You just have to wait, but if she hasn’t had anything by day 35 then you could take her to the vet for an X-ray. Make sure she has plenty of hay in case she starts nesting.

Just try your best to make sure she doesn't use the nest box as a litter box lol, don't want her pooping on her babies. If she starts using it as a litter box then I don't know what to do? Maybe someone else does?

She’s been using her litter box fairly normal. I’ve seen only 1 to 2 pellets in her nest box and that was after she had hopped in to munch on hay. Idk, this whole thing is stressing me out lol
I just want her to be healthy, regardless out she’s pregnant or not, I really like this girl and don’t want To put her in danger due to my ignorance so I’m trying my best to learn all I can but there’s ALOT to learn lol
