One of my buns is pregnant. She is exactly 31 days and this is her second litter. I've never had to deal with this so I'm curious and after some help. This morning she gave birth to a bun which looked to be extremely deformed and obviously not alive. It was slimy and didn't seem to have legs. I was in the room with her but left then for a couple of hours to give her some privacy so not to stress her out. However she hasn't had anymore babies. Shes eating and drinking. Her belly was moving and I'm sure it is now but I'm not sure if its just her being anxious. She will come to me for a stroke but not let me near her belly. Any advice? Thanks

Please put more specifics in your title to get responses from those who can help. People are less likely to click on a question that is so vague. "Help with pregnant bun giving birth" will give those experienced a reason to click and answer.

This evening (next day) she has also started pulling fur and digging. Any help I've never witnessed this before

Those are signs of her going into labor? So I don't know what happened with that other baby but I would think that she is about to have more babies. Rabbits also don't eat much before they give birth. In some cases they will but not generally just watch out for the next day or 2, if she hasn't had the babies yet take her the the vet and see if she does have any more, or if they are stuck.

This is day 32. Yesterday she had one but it was barely noticeable it was a baby. No nest anything. Now shes building a nest so I assume shes getting ready for birth. I'm just unsure as her first litter went perfect and she had a big litter of healthy babies. Shes not really been eating her pellets had a nibble. Rest was hay and water. Shes currently in the nest box quiet and fairly still. Cant really see or hear anything

Yeah that sounds like she is about to give birth if not giving birth. I don't know what the 2 other babies would be though. I am really honestly curious what the 2 other babies were all about. I don't know if they kind of just came earlier because they weren't formed right? I don't know why they wouldn't be formed right unless the dad and mom are related some how. Hope your bunny does well.

She had two one was alive and well the other is alive with its eyes open

Do you see any deformities in the legs of the kit born with its eyes open? This one sounds like it was born with the max factor, and if so, it probably won’t live.

Checked and no I can't. The eyes have closed now so I'm unsure what's happened

Hi, how was her first litter and how long ago? I've read that sometimes they can reabsorb the babies so not giving birth but can deliver the dead babies with the next pregnancy. I had no personal experience with that but you can google perhaps if you are interested they say it's not that uncommon and every 8th pregnancy ends with retaining babies. I have no proof just was an interesting read.
