Bunny had a clump of stool stuck to butt. Cleaned off and noticed a red growth a little bloody attached to anus. Today it is alot bigger and redder. What is it? What do i do to help him?
He also is shedding horrifically. Why?

Shedding could be that he's starting to Molt. It could be that he has a sore from the stool that was stuck/removed. It could be something else too. Not really sure you can send me a pic if you dont want to post that here via clicking on my profile picture and selecting "start a conversation " and I can take a look. Without a picture I'd recommend trimming away the fur surrounding his pellet shooter and washing with warm water (1 cup) with some baking soda (1/2 tsp) and 2 capfulls of the bottle of hydrogen peroxide or a tea wash made from pure chamomile tea (1 cup) with a bit of honey (2tsp) added and stirred to dissolve when the tea is warm not hot as the honeys healing properties are lost if the liquid is too hot, then drying the area with a soft cloth and applying some zinc and pain relief- free hemorrhoid ointment to act as a barrier against any urine from either dribbles or contact with his litter. Apply 2-3 times daily and see if it clears up or improves. If things do not look better within a week or they get much worse before that stop the treatment I suggested and definitely schedule a visit with your vet. Make sure to change his litter box to prevent infection.

If your rabbit has a growth or lump on his rectum, he needs to be seen be an experienced rabbit vet right away. A growth or lump that is increasing in size, is not something you should be attempting to treat on your own. It could be an abscess, it could be a tumor, or it could be a prolapsed rectum, but regardless of what it is it should be checked by a knowledgeable vet.

Shedding "horrifically" tends to be par for the course with rabbits. They molt four times a year - two "light" molts and two "heavy" (where they shed and replace their *entire* coat).

As for the growth from his anus (especially since it seems to be getting worse), you should really take him to a rabbit-savvy vet to have it looked at.

It's abnormal to have a clump of poop stuck to a rabbit's bottom... is your rabbit overweight, arthritic and/or on a diet that allows him a lot of pellets? "Poopy butt" typically stems from one of those causes...
