I have a sr broken tort buck I’m taking to 4-H fair tonight. He has never had cage sores because I check, but he has these weird almost calloused spots on his back feet. Will these make him be disqualified or should I even take him? Any help would be great

Sorry. can't help with the question, but what bedding is he living on? My bucks claws never extend so much that they aren't quite covered by fur, never needed to cut them since he's free range, so I havn't ever seen claws like that in real life.
Well, on the other hand, although he's short haired he seems to have more fur on his feet than your bunny.

He is on wire but he has straw to lay on, his nails have always been long and I have to trim them frequently. They can’t go any shorter without hitting the vein, and also he has some of the shortest hair I’ve ever had on feet.

May want to consider using hay instead of straw. Rabbits may munch on straw but it has no value to it. Hay is much better for them to munch on, so might as well just use that for bedding on.

Thank you for the advice, i actually use hay for my other rabbits, but this little guy sneezes a lot when you use hay but he doesn’t for straw. So I temporarily switched him over until I find a better solution. But thank you again for your concern for my rabbit and any ideas would be appreciated

Sure. It's possible it is the type of hay he is reacting to. Perhaps he's sensitive to a particular type. There is timothy, bermuda, oat grass, meadow, brome, orchard grass... to name some options. :)

Thank you, I haven’t tried orchard grass yet I’ll have to give it a go :)

Also that sore hocks tend to be a problem in some breeds and Mini Rex is one of those. Just keep an eye on them

Katelyn you actually made a good decision for him by changing his bedding to straw if he is reacting to hay it is because of dust and the pollens etc in hay where straw normally is not dusty and has none of the flowers pollen etc. I would keep his bedding as straw just give him hay for eating I dont use hay for bedding as rabbits will still eat it even if its soiled which means chance of disease or parasites and such as with straw for bedding and then giving clean hay they normally don't eat to much of the straw unless they run out of hay I use straw in nesting boxes as well better insulator than hay as well. Looking at the pics of his hocks those callouses are scaring from sore hocks I use boards in all my rabbits cages a standing board let's them get their weight off their hocks I use the 12 inch ceramic tiles as well they are easy to clean just wipe off and they help cool bunny off in summer heat the tile stays cool. You said he has long quicks in his nails as well normally this is due to having untrimmed nails and they grow longer in the nail but if you trim his feet weekly even if you can only cut the nail tip off it takes time but clipping weekly like that will make the quick start to recede in and they will shorten after time if you have trouble seeing the quick or are unsure of how far to cut take a small bright flashlight hold it to the tip of the nail and it will make the quick more visible and then you can get them cut quicker and shorter and you will be more confident about trimming nails
