Pointed White rabbits, Californian, Himalayan, and mixes of these, with white fur and colored points of the face, ears, feet, legs, and tail, can have color fluctuations dependant on the temperature. These colored points will usually get darker in cold weather and lighter in warm temps. 'Smutting' on the rest of the body can occur as well with temperature changes. Like when a rabbit molts and that skin is more exposed to cooler temps, it can come in darker than the rest of the fur.

It could also just have to do with molting, and the new fur comes in looking darker, then lightens up over time and exposure.

We had a Netherland that was a sealpoint and when he shed(past the 10 year mark) he ended up with a white spot on his nose he never had before.
WoW
they never stop the surprise i guess
im going to have black-white rabbit for some time:D
