I have a parakeet who loves to interact and come out of her cage. I recently read about pastuerella, and I was wondering if getting a rabbit would risk her health. I was planning to get a baby dwarf rabbit so it can get used to my bird from a young age. I've read some articles about birds and rabbits, and watched a few videos where parakeets interacted closely with rabbits. Has anybody had a bird which got pastuerella from a rabbit? Should I just get a different pet? I'm also going to the vet next month for a check up, so I'm going to ask his opinion as well.
