Hi all! I just adopted a 1ish year old names Sherbert. He was at a loval pet store and was attacked by a dog at his last home )))=

He is moving around, eating and drinking a lot (= but has a limp in his hind right leg. He seems to be dragging it an awful lot. Should I try to splint it myself or should I take him to a vet to make sure its not too serious/nothing else is hurt?

Thank you! ImageUploadedByRabbit Forum1412194632.139714.jpg

It really wouldn't be advisable to try and splint it yourself, as you don't know what type of injury is involved.

If the injury happened before you adopted him from the pet store, you should contact the pet store and ask if they had him seen by a vet or if the previous owner did, and find out what the vets findings were concerning the limp and also when the injury happened. If the pet store didn't take him to the vet, you should definitely have him seen by a good rabbit vet, though if the injury happened a while ago, that will affect what can be done to help correct it.
