Hi Everyone,

Noticed last nite that Dimi was jumping in her box and urinating a bit. Then out, then a few minutes later, back in to urinate again. We were gone for a few days and had a pet sitter in. She's taken care of Dimi before, but we noticed this time that the litter box was heavy, appeared that it may have not been changed for ~2.5 days. Dimi is acting fine and normal, other that this "frequent" urination thing. She's eating, pooping, playing, cuddling- very active. Could she have a urinary infection? From what I can see, the urine looks normal. But it does "seem" that she is doing frequent, smaller amounts. Just noticed this today as well. Her rabbit vet is on maternity leave and she would have to see the regular vet. Any advice?

The only advice I can think of is, maybe try to encourage her to drink extra water by squeezing a chunk of pineapple, watermelon, blueberries or something into a bowl of water. Maybe if anything is going on with her the extra water will help flush out her urinary tract.

Thanks, Squidpop. Whatever it was seemed to have sorted itself out. Perhaps I was being paranoid. At any rate, she is eating like a pig, lots of greens loaded with water. She actually peed over the side of her box tonight (happens sometimes when her rear hangs over LOL)- and it was a good amount, looked like a normal pee to me-clear and light, and no straining or difficulty. In her box, she is doing normal, clear, light yellow pees as well. I also looked at her area to see if there was any scald or staining, and it looks fine and normal. I am wondering if she got a bit dehydrated while being watched by the sitter, as she tips her bowl when she is frustrated (and won't drink from a bottle). She was also in her x-pen for 3 days (had her out running the morning we left for exercise), but she is not used to having to be in the pen that long. Everything seems fine now, and I will be watching her like a hawk to make sure she is ok. I have an appt. at rabbit specialist a ways out of the area, but not until Friday (they had nothing before then). I made it just in case, but also found an emergency vet abt an hour away that sees rabbits if anything starts to look bad.
