Those spots don't look like scabs, so I don't believe they are mites or anything serious. I think they're just apart of his skin. 
Some other members might have other opinions, but that's just what I thought while looking at the pictures you posted.

did he not have these spots before? are they scabs? if not, they could just be apart of his skin.
I don't see any cause for concern. It may just be due to scratching his ears. If you are still worried, call your vet.
