Bowser is very sick. She isdehydrated and has major diarhea. I have been giving her some pedialyteand some concentrated food gel. Does anyone have any other help for us?We just lost Marvin three weeks ago to the same thing :( :(

HELP!

Will she eat any hay? Take away thepellets and but give her unlimited hay just for 24 hours.Pedialyte is good. What is concentrated food gel?Is it baby food or something?

thanks

Concentrated food gel is just that. It comes in a tube and it is madefor "picky eaters" (vitalox?)It's high nutrition in a concentratedform. Its for replenishing her energy. There is no major improvement sofar though :(

Would canned pumpkin help? It's got lots of fiberand water so it may help.

That's about the only other suggestion, other than get to a vets ASAP!

I called the vet and I have a feeling that they arent really bunnyspecialists. There are no other vets available today that know aboutbunnies. My wife btw comes from vancouver too.

Vitalox sounds like Nutri-cal, so that shouldhelp. Also, try grinding up her pellets and making a mush outof them. You can syringe-feed that to her and since it's whatshe's used to eating it there's no chance of it upsetting herstomach. Plus it'll have lots of fiber.

If you can't get her to a vet today, definately get her in first thingin the morning. Bring some of your pellets too and have themtest for mycotoxin poisoning just in case.

I know you don't want to think about this (and neither do I), but ifthe worst should happen please have a necropsy done. Theremight be a viral or bacterial disease or possible food contaminationthat's causing this.

No! I don't see how this could be yourfault. IMO it sounds like a bad viral or bacterialdisease. And from how fast it happened, even the best vetcouldn't have helped.
