Default Rabbit ate yams?

I was eating a little bit in a bowl and my male rabbit came up and ate what was hanging off the side before i could stop him. I read that they should avoid sweet potatoes so i was just wondering if anyone had experience with this or if it should be okay?

Small amounts only because of high sugar content.
