English Lop

The English Lop is easy to spot - these bunnies have ears which are so long they can walk on them - their ears can average 22 inches from end to end! They were the first known breed of lop rabbit, and come in many different fur colors, both solid and broken (white with colored areas).

A large rabbit, the ideal adult weight for an English Lop is at least 9.5 pounds, and can be 11 pounds or more.

Notes on similar breeds: All other lops have "normal" length lop ears, compared to an English Lop.
  • American Fuzzy Lops are much smaller - 4 pounds - with long, wooly hair
  • Holland Lops are also about 4 pounds, but with short fur
  • Mini Lops are larger than Holland Lops, but much smaller than English Lops - 4.5-6.5 pounds
  • French Lops are the largest - at least 11 pounds
