Chinchilla

There are three breeds called "Chinchilla" - in order of size, they are:

  • Standard Chinchilla - ideal adult weight 5 to 7.5 pounds
  • American Chinchilla - ideal adult weight 9 to 12 pounds
  • Giant Chinchilla - ideal adult weight 12 to 16 pounds
The fur on a Chinchilla rabbit resembles the fur of a "real" chinchilla (the rodent), a mix of blue, grey, white and black hairs, about 1-1.5 inches long.
