We are thinking of getting a rabbit. Before we do we want to make sure that a rabbit is a good fit for our family. We have 3 people in the house that have early spring allergies. I have heard that rabbits require Timothy Hay and it is an early spring allergen. Is there something that rabbits can eat to stay healthy that we wouldn't be allergic to?

there are many people who keep rabbits who don't give them hay. It's not the "Norm" of keeping a pet rabbit, but rabbits are kept world wide and MANY of those people do not have hay readily available to them.

Hay is given for the long fibre component. So all you need to do is replace that long fibre component with something else. Black oil sunflower seed, oat grass, alfalfa cubes, apple branches, rose bush canes etc. Dry your dandelion leaves. Or consider feeding straw. You'll need to do some research, but it is very possible.
