Hi,

Castle Hill (Outside Sydney, Australia) Veterinarians:

1 Francis St Castle Hill 2154
(02) 9634-2712
[or]
(02) 9634 6340

Take care of our rabbits; my wife and I have educated the vets therefor the last 8 or 9 years, and now they are pretty sharp with therabbits. One vet, Gabrielle Dampney, even keeps rabbitsherself, now (mostly for her kids, she claims...). ;-)

Hope this helps.

Hi Guys,

If you are in Sydney and looking for a great rabbit vet I found onetoday! His name is David Vella www.davidvella.com.au and he is justpriceless! I seriously wish he did cats as well cause I would love himto treat my other baby too! He has the loveliest bedside manner andjust loves rabbits! He was with me for over and hour and answered allmy questions and eased my mind! He even squeezed in Thumper forboarding next week while I'm away! They usually only take 5 rabbits buthe will extend it to 6 for Thumpies!

He works out of the North Shore Veterinary Specialist Clinic, Crows Nest.

This is a teaching facility in Melbourne that looks reasonably priced, anybody have any experience with it? Highly unlikely they are rabbit-savvy, but they can do things like vaccinations, sub-q infusions and other simple procedures. (Just go armed with Vet info from some of the rabbit medical sites, you can teach them a thing or two).

He's great!! He's so professional. From now on I'll ONLY go to him!! It's a bit far from me but still reachable.

Love these guys, very knowledgeable.
Approximate prices for rabbits:
Neuter: $100
Spay: $200
Microchip (best done under anesthetic for small-med rabbits): $45
Consultation/Annual Health check: $62
Calicivirus vaccination: $15
Subcutaneous Fluids: $20
Metomide (gut motility injection): $18.70

As a side note, Vets 4 Pets at Golden Grove keeps some oxbow products in stock, hay cubes, pellets, critical care etc. But I wouldn't recommend them for consults etc.

I highly recommend the Unusual Pet Vets in Perth, specifically Dr. James Haberfield who fixed Felix and Clementine for me, and has also seen my guinea pig Bigby.

They operate out of Balcatta Veterinary Hospital and Murdoch University. Very friendly, professional, and most importantly extremely knowledgeable when it comes to unusual animal health. Pricing is a little steep, but not all that bad - from memory neutering and spaying were both around $200. They also regularly stock a lot of Oxbow products. :)
