The French Lop is a large rabbit, with an ideal adult weight of over 11 pounds.

Notes on similar breeds:
- American Fuzzy Lops are much smaller - 4 pounds - with long, wooly hair
- Holland Lops are also about 4 pounds, but with short fur
- Mini Lops are larger than Holland Lops, but much smaller than French Lops - 4.5-6.5 pounds
- English Lops are at bit smaller than French Lops - at least 9.5 pounds - but have extremely long ears.
