;)We have 24 rabbits in all 20 babybunns and 4 adult bunns. I am able to recognize solid black, solid grey, broken black, broken grey etc. but really I don't know thecolors tecnically.I have been told that grey is seldomrefered to asgrey but instead being blue, opal, charcole etcas well as other colors.

If anyone knows a good site with all the colors and pics of the colorsso I can match them up better I'd like to check it out, or if anyone isreally good at this particular task it would be greatly apreciated ifyou had the time to take a peak at our site and maybe fill us in on theproper color descriptions for each of our beloved critters.

The site is http://mywebpage.netscape.com/sgidget5/Home.html

Our e-mail is [email protected]

Thanks to any help offered ;)

The 4 pictured on your homepage are 3 brokenblacks and a broken castor. The heavy pattern is oftenreferred to as "booted" or "boots". More than 50% color on abroken is a disqualification for Mini Rex.

Available StockPage:

The "orange" is called a red in Mini Rex (orange or fawn are not accepted varieties).

The orange/gray is a tort. I see that you have it labeled asa broken -- unless there is white on it (which I don't see in thephoto) -- it's not a broken.

The "multi shades of brown" is a castor.

All the "grays" appear to be siamese sable -- not a showable color inthe Mini Rex. The darker shade of seal with a cocoa undercolor is showable in the Mini Rex.

Capachino appears to be a seal -- not a chocolate.

thank-you very much...I was kind of sure that Ihad the color names wrong. I am still learning all of thesethings thanks for the site ... I'll check it out ... thanks for thedescription as well it's greatly appreciated!

I always thought of "seal" as grey but I guess when I think about it wemistook our cat (who is a seal point siamese) to be a chocolate pointsiamese until we read his papers.

I just visited that site! WOW! those are wonderful pics thank-you thiswill make things alot easier...oh and they do have a pic of a seal thatis totally capachino! thank-you.

Hey if anyone else has any info especially on thegrey color tones I'd appreciate the insite. The pictures do kind ofmake it difficult to class them but it's the closest we can get next toseeing the animal in person.

Pamnock, If happen to know another site with a picture of the siamesesable so that I might be able to compare them myself, I'd greatlyappreciate it the first site was top notch! But by the sounds of itthere are other colors just not showable and its nice to be able toname the colors properly.

Thanks for all the help. ;)

You'll be able to find a lot of color info on this site http://www.tsukiyo.org/

One of my favorite unrecognized mini rex colors is the sable pointhttp://www.urbanrabbits.net/sp.html

Another site with Mini Rex photoshttp://mr-colors.tripod.com/

I believe Rick Stahl currently holds the certificate of development for the siamese sable mini rex.

You can do a web search for the siamese sable variety in other breeds(such as the Netherland Dwarf) where the color is more common.

I'm a moderator on the Corrells Rabbitry Forumhttp://rabbitry.teksigns.com/forum/

They have the most extensive rabbit color database that I know of withvery good photos and genotype listings including both recognized andunrecognized colors for ARBA and non-recognized breeds.

There's a very good photo of a baby siamese sable mini rex.
