no recognized breed. Based on ear size has a large breed rabbit in his background. What's with the missing hair?

Thank for the reply. This is my first rabbit. As to his hair, he came like that from a farm. He arrived in a box. :( A relative my ex's side gave him to my son. I'm the one who took over cleaning and everything. He's doing so much better now. He's the nicest bunny. I'm posting a picture of the first hour I got him. I cleaned out an old parrot cage and he outgrew that and now has a hutch in the same old laundry area. Also the pictures of him in the corner was when I played him pop music for the first time :)) he has such an adorable  expression.

If he outgrows this cage and like you said he is a larger breed, I'll get him a larger house.

not a Belgian hare at all. He honestly looks like a mix of large breed rabbit (those ears) and something else.. probably a dutch influence in their somewhere. Depending on where you are he could possibly be the OLD dutch breed (not the current variety).

Thanks, I'm from Asia and this is helpful because now I think he is a New Zealand Broken. Majority of rabbits here are such.
