It would have fur more like these rabbits.

From that picture, the fur doesn't look short and plush enough to be a rex.

Good job caring for the surprise babies! That is really interesting about the kit with the short, curly fur. I agree that it does kinda look like an astrex.

These are so cool! Have you tried posting about them on facebook? I'm a member of a few rabbit groups on there and people are always asking for advice for their pets with sore hocks.

It should be illegal in the US too. It's terribly cruel.

Oh wow, what a pretty rabbit!

What a fluffy boy! Of course it's impossible to know for sure, but he may just be a double maned lionhead with some extra fluff!
