    Outdoor bunny cage and chickens?

I see. I was worried about the food mixing as well, but figured I could make some sort of "grill" that would keep the bunny from reaching the chicken food, while the chickens could fit their beak through. But yeah, chickens poop everywhere so I understand why they are a pain to mix with rabbits...

    Outdoor bunny cage and chickens?

Hi! My parents are planning to expand their backyard and want to include a chicken coop in there. They are also considering moving our outdoors bunny to that area so her and the future chickens can socialize. The bunny currently lives in a 10x6.5 feet enclosure (3x2 meters) with a big hutch...

Bunny ate a lot of pellets and alfalfa?

She only made a coupe really small poops in the last 6 hours so I gave her some simethicone. I hope it will do the trick. She is also not really eating, I could only get her to eat 3 bits of parsley. Now I am trying to convince her to run around hoping she will work out an appetite. Still no...

Bunny ate a lot of pellets and alfalfa?

My 2 y.o. bun is an outside rabbit and last night we had a really windy night. It knocked over the alfalfa box and the bag of pellets and I guess she had the night of her life eating as much as she could. She normally gets only a few pellets every day (around 10g I guess) and a handful of...

    Outdoor bunny hutch - DIY

Hi! I know most of the people advocate for pet rabbits to stay indoor, but in my case I absolutely could not convince my parents so I had to figure something out. I now house Misha in an outdoor hutch. It is not perfect, but I did my best, and figured I could maybe help some people who also...

Anyone has experience with recovery after choking?

In the next hours she made more poops and ate more so we decided to take a watch-and-wait approach. I also called the vet and explained the stuffy nose and he seemed unconcerned, just told me to get her in for a check-up whenever I have time. So far she seems better, the breathing is less noisy...

Is he okay? Just been to the vets..

If he has a flare-up you should call the vet. I don't know what the treatment would be but this was the advice my vet gave me after the first vaccines. He said there is a medication that they would give in case that happened. It wouldn't be an emergency, but it should be taken care of.

extremely worried about my rabbit's health, pls help

You should do some imaging tests (an ultrasound and/or an X ray) so you can find out what is happening in his tummy. It is also possible that lump is an abscess. The treatment is very different between these three conditions so you really need to find out what is happening inside. The weight...

Is he okay? Just been to the vets..

I think you are correct that he is only a bit stressed after the vet visit. Keep watching him and if he is acting weird for the next few days then schedule a new vet appointment. As of now, I think he is just fine and only a bit upset for being stung with a needle :) I believe first-time...

Anyone has experience with recovery after choking?

Nevermind, she just let a nice pile of poop in her litterbox. I still think she should go see the vet since it is way less than what she usually did, but I have to see how I can convince my parents to give me that 2 hour ride.

Anyone has experience with recovery after choking?

Seems like she made no poops overnight and possibly not yesterday either (I clean her litterbox before bedtime). It is time for a vet appointment :(

Anyone has experience with recovery after choking?

As far as I can tell, the mucus seems clear. But there is a lot of sneezing, about once every few minutes.

Anyone has experience with recovery after choking?

I was thinking about that too. But the vet seemed pretty confident that 3 days would be enough since her lungs seemed ok when he listened to them. I will give them a call tomorrow to ask about that though. My worry is that they will request a new appointment to see how she is doing and 2 hours...

Anyone has experience with recovery after choking?

I usually feed them by hand, it is a cute bonding experience since they both are really happy when eating. I will try to only give them one at a time, hopefully it will prevent choking in the future. Today her nose is still stuffy and the breathing still labored but she seems a bit more alert...

Anyone has experience with recovery after choking?

Background: My 2 y.o. girl choked two nights ago after eating some pellets. After a stasis episode this spring with another bunny, we decided to reduce their pellets to the bare minimum so they get enough fiber. However, that made them get really really excited when eventually they would get...

    Recovery from GI stasis?

Today was the first day med-free. I only gave him some simethicone, but other than that, nothing. He seems to have transitioned easily. He begs for more food whenever he sees me, and eats up the critical care I give with a lot of enthusiasm (until 2-3 days ago every time he saw the syringe he...

    Recovery from GI stasis?

Thank you for the reply! I looked over the medication he got at the vet and there was Buprenorfine there. I am not 100% he got any yesterday, but if he did I think that might be why he was so out of it? Today he seems a bit more active, but still not as playful and jumping around as before...

    Recovery from GI stasis?

Hi! I have posted before about my bunny's GI stasis episode, but since then he has started eating and pooping so I made a separate question for this. How long does it usually take before a bunny recovers? Is it normal for his appetite to have ups and downs? Is it normal for his poops to be a...
