    Rabbit huff?

Ok another update. After vet trip he slightly improved but not enough. Phoned vets again and have been prescribed probiotic. He sat on my knee for ages tonight after his first probiotic and I was giving him a wee tummy rub. When he jumped down off my knee he spat out a wee bit of it (He must...

    Rabbit huff?

UPDATE!! Took Marty to the vets yesterday as he had barely pee'd at all and just had tiny dry droppings. Overall vet reckons he is in very good health and has had a bit of a digestive upset/gas (still passing lots of droppings but just teeny ones so he isn't worried about a blockage) he gave him...

    Rabbit huff?

He has drunk from his bowl and is now eating a good amount of hay. At the moment by biggest worry is hydration for him. He has however come out of hiding for a wee nosy too! I don't have any infant drops and nearest open shop now is about 30miles away...willing to travel though if you think it's...

    Rabbit huff?

Thanks for your reply! I did think this too but as they day has gone on he is moving around even less and gotten more lethargic. His poops have got really small and he is staying hidden in his hide. I am also worried about how much water he has had. I have hand offered him water from his bowl...

    Rabbit huff?

Hi all. I have recently returned from being away for 3 nights. My bunny was being fed and looked after by my family to strict instruction. He seemed to be eating and drinking totally fine while we were away. However, since we have returned home he has been quite quiet and not his usual self. He...

    Indoor or out?

Thanks. I'm quite pleased with it. Marty is pretty tentative though and been hiding in his wee house pretty much all afternoon. We went out for a walk a wee while ago though just to leave the house quite for a bit and when we got back he had eaten the food and had something to drink to he is...

    Indoor or out?

That's for all your help!! :) here is phase one of his 'safe space' (where he will go at night or when we can't check back on him). He will get access to the whole room for about 4-6 hrs a day though. Especially during the early morning and evening. He sleeps most of the middle of the day anyway...

    Indoor or out?

Hi Aki, sorry for taking so long to reply and thanks for the advice. What I posted is just an example of the kind of thing. In reality what I am actually looking at is probably more something like that but on it's side with 1 level and a ramp going up to it. This would also have a run/pen...

    Indoor or out?

Hello, just looking for a little advice. I totally understand that there is a lot of favour for indoor buns on this forum so please bare with me. Looking to move my bun inside. At the moment he is used to a large double hutch with 6ft X 6ft run attached which he gets full roam of for at least...

    Eye infection

It is slightly weepy and getting stuck shut sometimes. Bathed it with boiled-cooled water and seems much better tonight. Still eating like crazy and as playful as ever so will keep an eye now.

    Eye infection

My rabbit appears to have developed a wee eye infection. I thought I accidently knocked his eye when playing with him on Monday and last night noticed his eye had gone slightly *****. With the vets being closed now for New Year I am worried about what to do?

Working with rabbits on being held

Eurgh it's a pain. Alfie has been with me for about 7 months ish now and still hate being picked up. It's just perseverance I'm afraid...and lots of scratched arms. I try to pick Alfie up at some point most days to get him used to it. I'm at the stage now where once he is in my arms he is OK. I...

    help handling bunny

This made me smile as my bun Alfie does psychic thing too. He is genuinely so happy to see me and can't get enough of me when I see him 90% of the time but the small amount of time that I'm planning on picking him up he stays as far away as possible. Daft bun haha! But I had a bit of a...

OK thanks. Doesn't appear to be causing him any pain and can't see anything else. He is behaving just as cheekily as normal and eating and drinking fine. X

    Bunny hiccups

So today I introduced a teeny bit of brussel sprout to Alfie...about 10-15mins after eating it he looked/sounded like he had hiccups for about 30secs. Is it normal for rabbits to hiccup and could it be from the sprouts? Thanks
