    Territorial Bun-Beast...

I wish I knew what was in his rabbit mind, but he doesn't chew the carpet in his x-pen. Essentially his area is sacred and it's my area that must be destroyed. He is a bunny riddle wrapped in fur with big ears, that's for sure.

Safe bunny repellant for my poor furniture?

I tried Ivory soap on my baseboards and so far it has worked. I bought 3 bars for $1.15 and the rabbit is still alive, so I'm calling it a win.

    Territorial Bun-Beast...

It's not his room per say, it's more my office that he took over and I can't put anything in it because he will chew it. Which hey, he's a rabbit, but he is also systematically digging and destroying my carpet at the same time in that room, but not peeing in it. At this rate, he may end up...

    Territorial Bun-Beast...

We have done that. He has an x-pen in his own room and he does only poos on the inside of the perimeter of his x-pen. the second he gets out of that room, he will full speed run to pee and leave a trail of little Alvin poo. We limit him, he sort of gets the message, then he starts all over...

    Territorial Bun-Beast...

That was very interesting! I have an absurdly wonderful and patient vet who really listens, so I may print this out and take it to her.

    Territorial Bun-Beast...

I have a bun who is a little over a year and has been neutered for over 7 months now and he is still marking. I need help with this because he is ruining my new floors and my husband is losing patience (as am I, honestly). All the tricks that Google has offered, I have tried. This rabbit...

    A Weighty Issue

He has been getting unlimited hay. Botanical or orchard (of all things, my dog is allergic to most of the other hays) and I grow trays of wheatgrass, but he hasn't had any yet. I feed a high quality pellet and have already started decreasing both his junk food and pellet without tummy trouble...

    A Weighty Issue

I took in a new foster today and I had not seen him before. He is seriously obese. So obese in fact, he may actually be the obesity epidemic. I've had chubby ones before, but whoa, with this guy. The person who gave him up was obviously well meaning and loved him, but the food she gave me was...

    A two for one question

I have chased him a little bit, and if you tickle his bunny butt he will do a half binky and take off, so I do that whenever I'm in reach of that puffy tush. But for the most part he is happy to sleep and flop and eat. Right now he is only allowed in the living room. He is pooing next to the...

    A two for one question

A couple of weeks ago, my husband convinced me that we needed to take a foster bun in. He had been at the shelter for more than 4 months, so he was becoming depressed (the shelter is a beautiful one and they are well taken care of but it's not the same as being a house bun). So here are the...

    Justice for Jack the bunny?

Anaira wrote: If I get into the cruelty of it all, I'll just irritate myself so I'll comment on this lady's obvious lack of uhm, country smarts. I live in the country and we have hawks, coyotes, strays, ferals, etc and the last thing I would do is give the predators a population of easy prey...

Can proper rabbit keeping be done on a budget?

larryng wrote: With one bun, costs are indeed down. I do feed lots of veg/hay and he was just at the Vet getting his neuter stitches out and the Vet said he is very very healthy. The neuter cost was $97 for the surgery and pain meds total. He has no cage, so no expense there, but he does...

Has anyone thought about a NO pellet diet?

whitelop wrote: I feed almost pellet free. Pellets for us are more of a habit, not a need. My bun gets a huge variety of greens each week- this week was dandelion greens, sprouts, arugula, cilantro, parsley, with a few leaves of either kale or spinach mixed in. It's all tossed in a huge...

    Really need a bun name...

Nancy McClelland wrote: I can think of another B that describes him right about now. He is being unusually bad today. Well not bad I guess, just rabbity. He made all that commotion in the kitchen to steal a dog cookie which I had to fight him for. He then spent 15 mins trying to eat my...

Anyone have a rabbit that is NOT spayed/neutered, and HAPPY the way they are?

Troller wrote: I don't want to misinterpret what you are saying here, but it's really not butchery, it's castration. I mean, I haven't had it done, but tying a womans tubes is no snippity snip for like a vasectomy is for a man. It is invasive either way. The point of castration is to...
