    Tatooing Giant breeds

I tattoo when I wean at about 10-12 weeks, I like to do them at 8-12 weeks, after that they grow considerably thicker, I find the younger I do it the better the tattoo stays in the ear, WARNING GRAFFIC: this sounds rather harsh but if using a clamp puncture hard enough so you have to...

    "Bun-Buns?"

Did the breeder say he was a Holland Lop? Someholland lops do have ears that do not lop, he does look like a hollandlop in the picture.

    Considering going back to school

Not that this will help but there are actuallymany clinics that are owned and managed by Vet Techs. There are otheroptions to becoming a vet tech rather than going to school full time. There are some schools that offer an online course and then while doingthe online course you work at a Vet...

    Calling all Flemish breeders!

Many rescues often call mixed breed rabbits "american" and most vets had very little education on exotic care and handling much less breed characteristics, not that they don't know anything about medical care to rabbits, they may just not be as breed savvy as the breeders are. I...

    Horrible Accident

If there was some sort of slight internal organdamage you may not see the effects until later on. Mom may walk onthose kits everytime she feeds them and they are still okay, Kits canbe pretty tough little guys. A while back I had a litter of mini lopsand mom accidently scratched the belly of one...

Breeders - Does this look like a Flemish or a NZW?

The biggest difference between a young White flemish Giant and New Zealand white is body type and generally ear, headsize, and of course weight. From the picture it is really hard to get a good idea of head or body type, do you have any other pics? Julia

    Rabbit's not breeding !!!

gentle giants wrote: They are difficult to breed because the does start to grow a lot of fataround their ovaries at a young age, This fat makes it difficult forthem to ovulate. So they must be bred at a young age or they may neverreproduce, the problem with breeding them young is they often...
